My name is Pavel Bačovský (PhD, University of Colorado Boulder) and I am a Visiting Assistant Professor of Politics at Bates College.

I study the impact of new technologies on political behavior, predominantly in the WEIRD countries. In my research, I focus on the development of political attitudes among children and adolescents, especially among frequent users of online media and digital entertainment. I investigate how young people form attitudes towards political parties, political participation, and broader concepts such as freedom and democracy. I am also interested in the nexus of politics and leisure activities more broadly, and in various topics of political psychology.
